Antique English cricket table

This antique English cricket table has a round top that sits on three sturdy legs. The legs are square and splay out a little toward the floor, which gives the table a steady stance. Lower down, a triangular shelf joins all three legs. Two wooden cleats under the top keep the boards straight and flat.

The wood has darkened to a rich chestnut brown, and the shelf has a few marks and scuffs from years of use. Three legs mean it won't wobble on an uneven floor, so it's well suited to an old stone kitchen or a wooden porch. It works beautifully as a side table by an armchair.
