Antique French linen press

This antique French pine press is a tall cupboard built in two parts, and the pine has mellowed to a warm golden honey. A deep, generous cornice runs across the top, and below it two tall paneled doors open to the upper cupboard with a keyhole and a small wooden knob. The lower half has two short drawers with little turned knobs over another pair of paneled doors. Plain paneled sides and a simple base keep the whole look clean.

The pine has knots, small dents and soft wear along the edges and base, especially near the floor. Generations of use have given it a lovely glow. It would hold a whole linen collection in a bedroom or hallway but would work just as well as a pantry cupboard in a farmhouse kitchen.
