Antique pine glass hutch

This tall pine hutch has two glazed doors on top, each with a curved top corner, and an overhanging cornice above. Behind the glass, the shelves are open and lined with plain pine boards. Below, two short drawers sit over two long ones, and all four have round white porcelain knobs that stand out against the honey-colored wood. It rests on turned bun feet.

The pine has a warm, mellow tone and a few knots and soft marks that come from a long life of daily use in a farmhouse kitchen. It would hold dishes, glasses or books in a kitchen or dining room, and the drawers are handy for linens.
