Antique pine sideboard with working key

This antique pine sideboard has faded to a soft, pale oatmeal color that feels light and easy to live with. Three drawers run across the top, each with a round wooden knob. Below them, two paneled doors open to a roomy cupboard, and the lock still works with its original key. Paneled sides and a top that overhangs a little at the front finish it off, and it stands on short square feet.

The pine has a dry, scrubbed look, with small knocks and worn spots along the edges and doors. That gentle wear suits its simple shape. It would make a lovely buffet in a dining room, and it would work just as well under a TV or as extra storage in a kitchen.
