French antique oak sideboard

This long sideboard is the pale, natural color of white oak, with fine grain running across the top and doors. Three small drawers with brass keyhole plates sit above three panelled doors with angled corners, and the middle and right doors have brass keys. Inside, the cupboards have shelves and a back of warm pine boards, and a deep moulded base runs around the bottom.

The oak has a soft, sun-bleached look with a few knots, light marks and rubbed edges that come from a well-loved past. Its low, long shape suits a dining room as a buffet, and it would also work as a console in a living room or as storage along a kitchen wall.
