Antique English pine sideboard

This sideboard has two drawers across the top, each with a pair of original brass cup handles, and a cupboard below with two panelled doors that meet at a pair of brass knobs. A small keyhole sits between them, and inside there’s a deep shelf against a back of upright pine boards. The top has a softly rounded edge, and the sides are plain planked pine.

The pine has darkened to a rich honey-brown on the outside, while the inside of the doors is still pale and sunny. A few knots, small marks and rubbed edges show where it has been well used and waxed over time. It would work as a buffet in a dining room, or hold dishes and linens in a kitchen.
