Pair of antique oil paintings on canvas - florals

These two paintings each show a full bouquet set against a deep, dark background. In one, lilies, a white chrysanthemum and red and peach blooms spill out of a bronze footed urn. In the other, the paint is laid on thick and textured, with coral roses, creamy pompom flowers and striped lilies packed closely together above a soft green vase. Both sit in gold gilt frames with a leafy pattern running around the outer edge.

The canvases have darkened gently with age, and the thick paint has fine cracks in places. The gilding on the frames is softly rubbed at the corners after a long life on the walls of old houses. They look lovely hung side by side over a dresser or a bed, or on either side of a window or a mirror.
