Set of 4 Mahogany Regency heart-back chairs - c1820

The backs on these chairs rise into a soft heart shape at the top, and a scalloped bar runs across the middle. Each chair has a solid wooden seat that dips gently where you sit. The turned legs are linked by turned stretchers with little ring details, and the front legs swell out before tapering at the feet.

The mahogany has deepened to a rich dark brown. On the legs and stretchers it has worn paler where two centuries of boots have rested and tables have been pulled up close. They would look lovely around a farmhouse table or in an unfitted kitchen, and they'd mix in well with chairs you already have.
