Slim antique pine double wardrobe

This tall, narrow cupboard has two panelled doors under a deep, rounded cornice, with a pair of small wooden knobs in the middle. Inside are four wide shelves set against a back of upright pine boards. A single deep drawer sits below with two turned wooden knobs, and the whole piece rests on a plain base.

The pine has a pale, sun-bleached tone, deepening to amber on the cornice and drawer. Scratches, ink-like marks and soft scuffs across the drawer front come from a long working life. Though it is called a wardrobe, the shelves suit folded clothes and linens best, and its slim width fits into a bedroom corner, a hallway or beside a kitchen doorway.
