Stunning late Georgian oak linen press
A late Georgian English oak linen press dating to the early 19th century, constructed in two parts with a cupboard above a chest base. The upper section features paneled double doors framed by a pronounced molded cornice, opening to a generous interior intended for linen or clothing storage. Below, the base is fitted with an orderly arrangement of drawers, all supported on turned bun feet that give the piece a solid, settled stance.
The oak presents a deep patina throughout, with a smooth surface and tonal consistency that reflect age and careful use. Designed for both storage and presence, it works well as a linen press, wardrobe, or large‑scale storage piece in a bedroom or living space. A composed and substantial item that combines utility with classic Georgian proportion.
