Victorian pine linen press

This Victorian linen press has two doors with arched panels and a deep cornice on top. Inside, one side has three shelves and the other has a hanging rail, with a second rail above the shelves. Below the doors, two short drawers sit over one long one, each with a round white porcelain knob and a dark keyhole plate. The whole piece rests on chunky bun feet.

The pine has a warm orange-honey tone, with lively grain on the door panels and a scattering of knots and small marks from a long working life. The cupboard section lifts off the drawer base, and the iron lock on the door is still there. It would work as a bedroom wardrobe or a place for towels and bedding in a hallway or bathroom.
