Vintage hand broom

This small vintage hand broom has a metal cap at the top and a little ring for hanging it up. Just below the cap, dark wire wraps gather the straw bristles into a short neck before they fan out into a golden head. Two rows of stitching hold it all in shape. One row is red and the other is blue.

The bristles are still thick and even, though the tips have frayed a little from use. It would look at home beside the fireplace or hanging from a peg in the mudroom. It's still sturdy enough to sweep ash from the hearth or crumbs off a table.
