Vintage leather folding chair

The seat and back of this chair are thick tan leather with a row of dark stitching around each edge. The leather is stretched across a dark wood frame turned to look like bamboo, and round knobs sit on top of the back posts. Instead of solid arms, leather straps run from the back posts down to the front, where they buckle onto wooden arm rails capped with brass. The legs cross at the sides like a classic folding chair.

The leather has darkened and softened, and it has creases and fine lines where people have settled into it over the decades. The wood frame has gentle rubs along the turned rings. It would be a handsome reading chair in a study or library, and it would look just as good tucked into a bedroom corner or beside a fireplace.
